Some people are terrible at helping others to make optimal decisions. They’ll just jump in after a few seconds of thought then push their first conclusion onto the other person and try to sell them on it. This is instead of taking a balanced approach and running through the pros and cons, or providing any further information that they can think of that would be helpful to the process. Or asking further questions around the decision along with asking about the person’s preferences. Or taking the time to suggest further sources of information.

Instead, they automatically believe the solution or choice they have come up with is the best for that person, at which point they steer singularly in that direction. And sometimes the person even pushes the person who has to make the decision in the direction that is best for the person they are asking for advice.
